UK marks Armed Forces Day 2019, Military veterans urged to sign up for priority NHS treatment in Wales, over 300 events nationwide. The eleventh annual Armed Forces Day gives people around the country the opportunity to show their support for the Armed Forces community. Trowbridge will celebrate its 15th annual Armed Forces Day this weekend with two days of events and activities. Thousands of people are expected to attend the 15th Wiltshire Armed Forces and Veterans Celebrations taking place in Trowbridge today and tomorrow. This Saturday is Armed Forces Day, where we take time to honour the service of those who make up our armed forces community. Former members of the armed forces in Wales are being urged to ensure they let their GP know that they have served their country as they may be entitled to priority treatment.
The annual event is a chance for the whole country to celebrate the work of service personnel, reservists, veterans, cadets and their families and friends. The Prime Minister also said she is proud to mark Armed Forces Day each year. “You all play a part in making our Armed Forces the best in the world and the pride of our nation.” “It is an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the contribution made by our Armed Forces,” Theresa May said.
Police Community Support Officers, Special Constables, and Plymouth-based Police Cadets will be on hand to offer support and advice on a range of policing and crime prevention matters. Chief Superintendent Matthews will lay a wreath on behalf of Devon and Cornwall Police to recognise fallen men and women who have laid down their lives in service of their country. The two-day event aims to show appreciation of UK Armed Forces past, present and future and giving visitors of all ages an opportunity to learn, recall memories and make new memories.
