Tanushree Dutta vs Nana Patekar #MeToo case, Witness statements don’t support allegations against Nana Patekar, says police. The Oshiwara cops are helpless seven months into the investigation, as most of the witnesses are unable to recall the incident on what happened with Tanushree Dutta during the shoot of Horn Ok Please in 2008. Meanwhile, senior PI Shailesh Pasalwad declined to comment on the case as “the investigation is at a crucial stage”.
Despite the Oshiwara police looking into the case for the last seven months, since the actress registered an FIR, they have not been able to get any witnesses to back up her claims. She alleged that Nana Patekar had sexually harassed her and also registered an FIR in the case. According to the police, they have so far recorded the statements of 12 to 15 witnesses, including actor Daisy Shah, who was assistant to choreographer Ganesh Acharya during the song’s shoot.
On talking about the news of Nana Patekar getting a clean chit, Tanushree Dutta said that all the 15 witnesses present at the time of the incident are Nana Patekar’s friends and hence they will not support her side of the story. Most of the people from whom they are taking statements are the ones who watched me getting harassed and did nothing to support me. A senior police officer said, “Several statements in the matter have been recorded, but most of them don’t support her allegations. The reason behind this is people cannot recall the incident.
After filing a case against Patekar, Ganesh Acharya & Sami Siddiqui, the police began its investigation and reportedly the case isn’t strong enough. A report by entertainment portal Bollywood Hungama revealed the same as it stated, “None of the witnesses’ stories has corroborated with Tanushree’s. Interestingly Tanushree compares Pooja Bedi’s initiative to Raakhee Sawant’s. “Last time I remember Rakhi Sawant tried to start a #MenToo but failed miserably.
