OnePlus announces Google Duo integration, OnePlus has announced its plan to introduce Google Duo as a native video calling app on its devices. It looks like your OnePlus device will soon have a new native video calling app and it will be none other than Google Duo. OnePlus has officially said that they will “soon introduce Google Duo as a native function for video calls on its devices”.

While OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T ₹ 37,999 users have already got the native support with the latest OxygenOS 9.0.4 and OxygenOS 9.0.12 builds respectively, OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T phones are set to get with the update next. With the new stable OxygenOS software build, Google Duo video calling function will be integrated with Call Logs, Contacts, Dial Pads, and Messaging.

Deeper integration with Google Duo essentially means that native video calling on OnePlus phones will be handled by Google Duo and users will not have to rely on third-party applications like Skype, WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger.

According to a press note shared by OnePlus, the OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 6, OnePlus 5T, OnePlus 5, OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 will be getting the Google Duo integration, however, OnePlus 3/3T users will have to wait a little more. Over the coming week, OnePlus will be rolling out stable OxygenOS software builds, which will deliver a deeper integration of Google Duo on the OnePlus 6/6T/5/5T and eventually on the 3/3T with the Android Pie update.

Prior to this, OnePlus announced Google Lens integration in its native camera app. Google Lens takes advantage of machine learning to show relevant details about objects at which the camera is pointed at, like books, building, and more. It also lets scan QR codes.
