NEET Postponed In Odisha, New exam dates to be declared soon, May 5th exam cancelled for centres in Odisha due to Cyclone Fani. The national medical entrance exam, NEET has been postponed in Odisha. In the wake of the aftermath of Cyclone Fani, which left the State massively devastated, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) has been postponed and new dates will be announced soon.
Apart from this, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has also cancelled the postgraduate entrance exam scheduled for May 5. As per the AIIMS statement, the exam in Bhubaneswar centre has been postponed till further orders.
On Friday, Cyclone ‘Fani’ barrelled through Odisha, unleashing copious rain and windstorm that gusted up to 175 kilometres per hour, killing at least eight people, blowing away thatched houses, and swamping towns and villages, officials said.
As per the official announcement, “NEET exam scheduled for 5th May in Odisha postponed as per the request of State Govt working on relief and rehabilitation work in the wake of Fani Cyclone. Revised dates for the exam in Odisha will be announced soon.” The message was tweeted a few minutes ago by ANI. Official notification would be released by NTA on the official website ntaneet.nic.in soon.
