Rapper Nipsey Hussle, whose 2018 album Victory Lap was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards, died Sunday after a shooting in his native Los Angeles.

Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Asghedom, was shot multiple times, according to The Los Angeles Times. His death was confirmed by a Los Angeles city official.

According to the newspaper, Hussle, 33, was shot multiple times and rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His death sent shockwaves through the U.S. entertainment world, with celebrities posting memories of the musician on social media.
