Manchester City vs Leicester City, Vincent Kompany the hero as City jumps Liverpool, closes in on Premier League title. Manchester City welcome Leicester City to the Etihad Stadium hoping to secure a win and return to the top of the Premier League.
Vincent Kompany scored a spectacular goal to lead Manchester City past Leicester for three massive points, a 13th Premier League win in a row and a return to the top of the table with a 1-0 victory at the Etihad on Monday night.
Vincent Kompany, who has endured terrible luck with injuries over recent years, was in tears as he led a lap of honour with his children to mark City’s final home game of the season and may have played for the last time at the Etihad with his contract expiring at the end of the campaign.
The Manchester City captain took his time before unleashing a swerving 25-yard screamer from outside the box with 20 minutes to go on the clock, his first goal of the campaign. Out of the last 42 possible points in the league, Manchester City has taken all 42 points. That’s been the difference. Fourteen straight wins. Absolutely bonkers form.
