How to get Slack’s new ‘Dark Mode’ on Your Android, iOS smartphones, currently being rolled out to beta testers on both iOS and Android devices. Dark mode is the hottest new trend in apps as it is slightly easy on the eyes and conserves battery life too. Now, productivity app Slack is the latest to join the bandwagon by offering a dark mode feature to its app users.
The dark mode isn’t officially a part of the apps use yet, and instead is currently available exclusively to members of Slack’s beta testing program. The good news is you can join that program right now and get access to the feature. To do it on iOS you’ll want to go to this page, and for Android this one (which will direct you to Google Play).
If you’re already in the beta program and use either iOS or Android, congrats! You may be able to enable Dark Mode already. Make sure your app is up to date, and then navigate to your in-app Settings menu. There, you should see an option for enabling the theme.
Once you join the program, you will be able to toggle to the dark mode from the settings panel. You may be prompted to restart the app depending on the OS you are using. There is no word on when the feature will be exiting the beta but given that it is being tested in the beta right now, hopefully it’s a sign that it should come soon.
