Currently, trying to access the calendar generates a 404 error message through a browser. The company has confirmed service interruptions via its G Suite Status Dashboard, noting, “We’re investigating reports of an issue with Google Calendar.

Google Calendar really does appear to be down. Navigating to will present you with a 404 error. Users reported trouble opening Google Calendar on desktop as well as mobile devices. However, the Google Calendar app for iOS and Android appears to be working. A message posted to the G Suite Status Dashboard at 7:22 a.m. PT, said the company was investigating reports of issues with Google Calendar and that affected users were unable to access the service.

Google Calendar’s issues have come in the same month as another massive Google outage which saw YouTube, Gmail, and Snapchat taken offline because of problems with the company’s Cloud service. At the time, Google blamed “high levels of netcwork congestion in the eastern USA” for the issues. No doubt a coincidence, but the last Tweet sent from Google’s G Suite Twitter account was about how the Calendar app makes scheduling simpler.

Without knowing what meetings, classes and other events are scheduled for the day, some took to social media to share their frustration. Google Calendar and the hashtag #googlecalendardown started trending on Twitter. The outage came just an hour after Google's G Suite account had posted about how using Calendar makes scheduling "simpler".
