Earthquake in Delhi NCR, An earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale hit Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh at 7.59 am on Wednesday morning, the Meteorological department’s website stated. Tremors were felt in several parts of the national capital region early Wednesday morning.

These were reportedly of an earthquake of magnitude 4.0 reported 44 km southwest of Muzaffarnagar a little before 8 am this morning.  Tremors were felt in several parts of north India.

Delhi and neighbouring areas woke up Wednesday morning to an earthquake measuring 4.0 on the richter scale. Lasting a few seconds, the earthquake is reported to have originated 44 km southwest of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh.

Local media reports said the depth of the earthquake was 5 km, but the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said the earthquake struck at a depth of 10 km.

Another earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6 was reported in Kofarnihon, Tajikistan with a depth of 10 km. The earthquake occured at around 8 am today.
