De De Pyaar De box office collection, Ajay Devgn’s Film Gets a Solid Opening, Earns Rs 10 Crore, set to grow well over the weekend. The Akiv Ali directed film is more than just a comedy that the promo might have suggested and instead brings sensitive issues such as divorce, remarriage and live-in relationships to light. Directed by Akiv Ali, De De Pyaar De stars Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh and Tabu in lead roles.
However, the movie may witness a surge in collections in the weekend, as it has received positive reviews from critics. The Akiv Ali directorial film has earned Rs 10.41 crore on the first day of its release. The movie did not see much traction in the morning, but the collection went up in the evening. The collections are expected to pick up strongly on Saturday and Sunday to have a decent weekend and if go by the advance booking for today, there’s some sort of jump looking on the cards.
According to a report in Box Office India, there will be a jump on weekend and although the quirky romantic comedy, which released in over 3100 screens across the country, was off to a dull start but witnessed higher footfall in the evening and night shows. Student of the Year 2, the other Hindi release in the running, has collected Rs 57.90 crore after one week. The film managed to demonstrate decent hold during the weekdays.
Ashish meets Aisha (Rakul Preet Singh) during his friend’s wedding celebrations, and sparks fly. She is 26, and the entire first half of the film feels like a string of cringey jokes. Not just about the age gap between them (or the generation gap as Ashish’s therapist friend describes it), but about their contrasting outlook towards everything from relationships to alcohol consumption and sex. Waking up the morning after she passed out drunk in his house, Aisha can’t remember if anything happened between them.
