Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson Finally Confirm the Obvious, Romance After Sharing Kiss Clip To Celebrate Pride, Officially A Couple. Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson made their relationship Instagram official this weekend, confirming the rumors that had circulated for a year. Just days after Cara Delevingne publicly confirmed her relationship with Ashley Benson, she gushed over the blonde bombshell in a sweet speech at the 2010 Trevor LIVE Gala in New York.
Days after posting a video of herself kissing girlfriend Ashley Benson to mark Pride, Cara Delevingne has paid tribute to her partner in a public speech. The 26-year-old recently shared a video of her and Benson kissing to celebrate Pride Month. It wasn’t until Delevingne posted a video of the two women kissing over the weekend that she seemed to address the rumors head-on, and the video prompted E! News to get to the bottom of the romance.
“I don’t know if it’s because it is Pride, it’s been 50 years since Stonewall happened and I don’t know,” Cara explained. “It’s been just about our one year anniversary so, why not?” During the gala, Delevingne also thanked a “very special woman in [the] room” while accepting the Hero Award for her commitment to ending suicide among LGBTQ youth. “She’s one of the people who help me love myself when I needed it most and I really needed it,” she said during her speech, which Benson posted to her Instagram Story with the text, “Love you. proud of you.”
Benson was a supportive partner throughout the evening, sharing multiple Instagram Stories from the event. The former Pretty Little Liars actress recorded Delevingne’s speech, giving her girlfriend one of her first public “I love yous.” “Love you, Cara Delevingne. Proud of you,” she wrote, tagging the Trevor Project.
