Armored Mewtwo is coming to Pokémon, Counters explained, possible Armored Mewtwo stats, starting July 10, weakness details leaked. Mewtwo is returning to Pokémon Go’s tier five raids, kind of. A new form, Armored Mewtwo, is hitting raids starting July 10 at 4 p.m. ET. You’ll be able to battle this new version of the classic first generation Legendary, Mewtwo for a limited time this summer.
Mewtwo is coming back to Pokemon GO raids but will be sporting a new look. This armored version is based on Mewtwo’s appearance from the upcoming Pokemon anime film Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution. Be forewarned – it’s not going to be an easy fight. Armored Mewtwo is going to be showing up in five-star Raid Battles.
Given that it’s decked out in armor, it’s unknown at this point if this form will be more focused on defense stats, but either way, having Mewtwo back in raids in any form is a nice surprise. These are five-star level Raids and, like with all other Raids, once you’ve defeated Armored Mewtwo, you need to catch it.
Niantic and The Pokemon Company released a teaser video showing off the new Mewtwo in action. The return of this more potentially more powerful Mewtwo will only be a limited time event. Niantic’s confirmed this Armored Mewtwo launch with an official video! Note that this is not in-game footage, but it DOES capture the hype in a completely all-encompassing way.
