Arjun Patiala movie review, Diljit Dosanjh, Kriti Sanon can’t make up for lack of jokes, A pointless affair, The Kapil Sharma Show. Thus, the curtains rise on 90 more minutes of nonsense. Enter the ‘hero’ Arjun Patiala, played by Diljit Dosanjh. He is a local judo champion and his podium-finish earns him a spot in the local police.
With Diljit Dosanjh’s high likeable quotient, faithful sidekick Varun Sharma’s skills at delivering broadsides, pretty heartthrob Kriti Sanon’s dazzling pearly-whites, and a host of reliable supporting acts, Arjun Patiala should have been much better than it is.
This screwball comedy, designed as a buddy-cop film, is a huge letdown. You would enjoy the humour if it was intelligently mounted. Unfortunately with a perfunctorily-designed plot, flippant graphics and absurd gags, the end result is a yawn.
Arjun meets Ritu (Kriti Sanon), a bubbly journalist, and the two set about on destroying crime syndicates while not forgetting their other priority, cavorting in the fields. Supporting actors Seema Pahwa, Ronit Roy and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub are miscast as local corrupt politician, police officer and small time goon.
